7-SEAS Mission - Plan

The success of this mission is highly-dependant on the cooperation and collaboration of the host counties. In general, the mission will be guided by the following progression:

  • Phase 1: Promote interactions between 7-SEAS scientists. Exchange ideas and community data; Devise a plan for future collaborative research.
  • Phase 2: Develop a surface instrumentation network and data distribution system. Devise regionally suited satellite and model datasets. Encourage scientist interaction and on-site exchange. Begin development of an Indonesian research aircraft platform.
  • Phase 3: Perform intensive operations period (IOP) missions.
  • No set timeline, progress when all stakeholders are ready.

See the 7-SEAS White Paper under "Reports" for further information.
